Anyone have any ideas on why my front passenger side power window won't roll down ?

I've changed the switch and swapped motors with the back and still it didn't work. I even had the window down manually and it went up just fine:ybrick:

I recently Installed some speakers in the doors and thats when it stopped working. Maybe I did something when I put them in or could it be the master switch ?

Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Hang out browse around a little. There is a relay called the door/power window control, or something like that, that may be your culprit. I think it is under your dash near the steering column. I don't have the same year as you, so I am not positive where it is. However, if they were working before you put the speakers in take a look at everything you touched during that process. It is likely that the two are connected. Is the motor clicking? No chance that the magnet is in the way of the track or anything is there?

Windows not working are a common problem talked about on here. You should be able to find quite a lot of info. You didn't say what year but it looks like a second gen. Try the "Classics Section."

helo-mech, you get 5 out of 5 stars in my book! sometimes I think we scare off new forum members by berating them for not searching for a relevant thread topic. Your response to the OP's question was informative and helpful on several levels!

Thanks for the advice. Very helpfull I think.

I did retrace my steps with the speaker install and didnt see any problems there. Though I think I'll look again.

I will also locate that relay as a possible problem.

Thanks again,
Cheers

Thanks man. I have to admit thought that I have been guilty of the berating at times. I'm trying to turn over a new leaf. :thanks:

No problem. Once you give it a good look post up in the Classics Section and let us know what you came up with. With a little time and troubleshooting and the knowledge that some of these guys have on here, it will get figured out.

BTW, I had a similar issue and found that it was my relay. I tapped on it a little with the end of a screwdriver and it started working.
