Help! rattle noise startup & idle

2002 4Runner SR5 w/ 155k miles.

Last night when I started my I felt and heard a rough
rattle from under the hood. I could feel it in both the brake and gass pedals.
Like the engine itself was loose. It also idled a bit rough. I immediately checked oil, and looked around the engine compartment halfway expecting to find a wrench or hammer left laying on the motor based on the sound.
Each time I've started it - it's gotten a little worse, and more pronounced.

I searched and searched here but perhaps my keywords are off.
Haven't found any answers yet.

Any ideas?

could be motor mounts, could be your exhaust pipe rattling, could be the heat shield on your exhaust near the cat rattling.

I took it to a local shop where I get oil changes, tires, etc.
and explained/demonstrated the issue. The owner called me
back to the garage area to show me what it was. There is
a steel bracket approx. 6" long on the top right edge of motor
that was not reconnected after they performed my last tune-up
7 months ago. It had fallen against the firewall and was making
the sound. He disconnected one end of it to gain access to spark plugs,
and forgot to put it back.
I was relieved, and also impressed with their willingness to
own up to it. I would not have known had he not told me.

The only bracket I can think of that has to be loosened when changing plugs is on the left side or driver's side of the engine.
