Help! rear window

i have a 95 4runner. last night i got in the car and turned the car on and pressed the up button for the rear window. the window rolled up and is now stuck in the fully up positionl. it will not go down at all. i dont know if its the wiring or the motor. the rear window is one of my favorite things about this car and i would love any advice or help on diagnosing the problem.

When i press the "up" button there is a clicking noise coming from somewhere in the back but no response when i press "down"

Sounds like your rear window relay has gone out. I have an extra one laying around from a 93 4Runner if you are interested in buying it.

pull the door panel off and check the window regulator and the motor if it is electric, next check the switch as well.

If it is a manual roll down then just check the regulator...

Thanks for all the help guys. it ended up being a faulty switch. the up worked but not the down.. i figured that out after i tore apart the back of my car oh well.. a good learning expirience! i just bypassed the down part of the switch with two wires so when i touch them together the window goes down. thanks again for the help

You lucked out. I checked my system twice now and it turns out my relay is bad. Hello Zinarec what kind of $ are you asking for the relay?

I ahve similar problem. Bought arelay from someone 300km's away and he siad it worked. My window goes up but not dwn. I checked the swith for continuity and all is okay Any body have any ideas?

If you are still interested i have a relay that works with the front switch up and down. I am not sure if your relay is the problem though.
