Help removing adhesive.

I recently inherited my dad's 4Runner. I've been replacing things that need to be replaced and upgrading in some places. One thing I did was replace the radio. My dad had some Velcro adhered to the dash which he used to hold the remote for the old radio. I'm not planning to do the same, so I've removed the Velcro. What's left is a good bit of adhesive that I'd like to get rid of without damaging the interior. Are there any good methods or products for removing adhesive like this?

They also make a few different version of adhesive remover- Citrus based, chem based, etc. I'd give the citrus stuff a try.

You can also take the face plate off and let it soak in a detergent and water bath to soften it up.

Are there any good methods or products for removing adhesive like this?

Using the same piece of velcro you pulled off or another piece of new velcro, lightly place the velcro on top of the old adhesive and use it to pull off the old adhesive. If the old adhesive is really old and/or if it's cold, you may have to use a hair dryer to warm it up first. Repeat removing the adhesive until it's all gone.

Trick has never failed for me.

+1 on the hair dryer. Definitely use one. It should come off in a snap with the above method. Then use goo gone for any left over.

Heat it up and rub it off with your thumb.
Simple green and WD40 help too.

I work as a detailer at a local Honda dealer, and we need to get glue and such off new cars all the time. We use a product called Acry-solv, which is a liquid that eats up glue in a heartbeat. That should do the trick, just google that and see what ya fine. Just make sure you don't let it sit on the plastic too long, because it will leave a mark

Sometimes Goo gone, wd-40 and hair dryer will not work either. As a last resort I use Gas.
