Hey all - new to the site. I have a 05 v8 4runner - 42k miles. I took it to the dealership to show them the rust around the frame of the sunroof glass.
They said you just missed your warranty period - If I would have caught it earlier they could have replaced under warranty. Water was getting stuck in the area and rusted out the frame portion that hold the glass.
I inspected the track and it seems fine, no rust - all works mechanically well.
Bad news....they want 1400 to replace the whole thing. They said they'd have to take the linner down in order to access.
When I inspected, it appears I may be able to replace just the rusted fram portion without taking down the headliner.
Anyone have a diagram/ schematic on how this thing is installed and the parts - I want to do it myself and save a buck or 2.
