HELP! Something came off with the skid plate

That's what you get here in the northeast at 11 years and 165K miles...
Surprisingly, the rest of the underside looks very good. The front and rear cross-beams appear to be a little flaky with the skid plate looking the worst.
I took down the skid plate to replace my sway bar bushings which I thought for sure were the clunking I was getting from the front end. This piece of the skid plate could also have been contributing significantly to that noise!
yes you can reintall without it. its just for jacking up the truck if you want both wheels off the ground.

hard to tell with that picture being too close but ya, it looks like a mount rusted off of the skid plate.
if i were you i wouldnt put it back on and just buy another skid plate from salvage yard. why risk it coming of and hitting road damaging your truck
replace the oem skid plate, buy a better aftermarket one, or just leave the skid plate off altogether if you dont off road

definitely not as bad as i thought and you should clean up that rust and repaint it so it last a few more years, otherwise it may rust through and need replacing after just one or two years.
skid plates arent cheap so its worth the effort put in to take it off, clean it up, and repaint it
