help soon to be newbie w/Carmax buy

I have a 97 4Runner coming in with Carmax later this week and had a few questions, I'd hope someone could help with. It is a 97 with 51K ($12,000), so I was wondering if there are any specific trouble spots I should look for. Also, it says it is purple and I looked up the colors for 1997 on this forum, and didn't see purple listed, should this be a concern or was there really purple one's in 1997. Also as for the Carmax three-year warranty, has anyone done this and have you found it to be a a good investment -- thanks for any feedback. Not looking to doing any major mods, but just a relaiable vechicle to run the kids to the ball fields and still take them camping 3-4 times a year. Thanks

Not that i know of, that sounds like a decent deal, (thats what you would expect through carmax) No offense by any means but i always saw carmax as the lazy mans car buying experience. But it does take ALOT of hassle out of buying a used car. Also you get all the waranties, and you know your buying a good car. So it evens it out with that sense of safety and a sense that you know you bought a good car.

Yes there are some purple 4runners out there, as a matter of fact my neighbor down the street has one, its deffinitly an intresting color.

Is it an SR5/Limited or what. If its the SR5 then this is the car for you, the 4runner is great off road wether its camping or mudding, you shouldnt have an issue. If its the Limited, that is directed towards the luxory crowd, not saying it is any less of a man offroad but on some limiteds they are not equipped with 4WD
