Help with 2011 Trail options

So I am looking for help on what to do with the front of my 2011 Trail. I love the looks of this thing, but I am wanting a winch and recovery points up front. I know I can get a behind the bumper winch mount (opinions welcome), but I have no idea where to recover it from on the front end. I would love some hooks or something, but I do not want a full steel bumper up front. Is there anywhere I can have something welded on?

There are two big loops under the front that can be used for recovery. Not easy to see or reach and you need a shackle to use them. Curt makes a front hitch for our T4s that could be a good recovery point too but may not get along with a winch.

I was wondering about those. They look really weak though.

Behind the soft plastic front bumper is the best Chinese steel Toyota can buy.

Don't forget the foam and aluminum..............

They are not weak at all. Been discussed a million times... on the 5th gen they are perfect for recovery and are already welded on.

But if you put in a winch plate. The winch thimble/hook also becomes a recovery point.

I've read that it's a bad idea to use that as a recovery point, anyway.
