2000 4Runner - 4cyl 2.7L (3RZ-FE) ~ 120k - California emissions.
I bought it last year and it probably never got the valves adjusted and ended up with burnt exhaust valve.
There are a few heads available for this engine on eBay, but all of them non-California emissions. I was told that both designs differ mainly by the air intake port design, so they may not be interchangeable.
Does anyone know where I can buy a California emissions head?
I'm not tech savvy and pulling the head myself is not an option (at least for now
).
I know a guy who is willing to replace the head (if I provide a complete new one) for up to $500, but he's not willing to deal with the old one.
The local garage quoted $1800 to get it done, but I currently can't afford to spend more than $1000.
A remanufactured head on eBay goes for about $400 shipped but non of them sell a California emissions one...
