Help with blower

Well hey guys I have a Poulan Pro BBPB30/30CC that I got off Craigslist for $50.00. It needed a pull cord, so I took it apart, replaced the pull board but can't get the damn thing to recoil properly. I've for it all installed correctly, so what gives? And help is very much appreciated.

I'm assuming it isnt sucking the pull string back in all the way? you may need more tension on the spring for the recoil to work properly.

I don't know the specifics on your model, but you may need to pull your string out all the way, keep it from retracting (screw driver wedged in there) untie your new string and spin the coil wheel opposite of the way it wants to go to increase your tension. hold at new position and re-tie. should suck in.

Its not going in period. Pull it out like you're trying to start it and it sits out like a dumbass.
 
Depends on how much the coil spring actually came apart or how much of the system itself was disassembled in the first place. I screwed up a pull cord off a Honda slave motor at work, thought I had it all together correctly, double and triple checked it and turns out the spring was still in wrong.

All I can suggest is pull it back apart try something different. Especially after taking a break from the project, maybe it will come together easier and work. Sorry that's all I can say without pics or knowing something about your blower in particular. I do feel your pain.
 
You may have to preload the spring before installing. Your best bet is to contact the manufacture and talk to a tech.

The problem is, is that I never took the spring out of the plastic housing fmthat the spring actually sets in. I'm not sure about it so next paycheck I'm just going to buy a Husqavarna and call it a day. Still like to know what's wrong with his one so I can fix it and resell it for a profit.
 
Don't grab an husqvarna, buy an echo..

I had mine for 3 years and the first year, the prop shaft broke off and they gave me an brand new one.

Can't beat it with an 5 years consumer warranty.. When my trimmer does take an dump. I'm going for an echo one.

I don't like the echo blowers. I like the throttle control on the tube and not on the other side on a different lever. Its just personal preference. And I had a husky mower and sold it. Regret that big time. The guy I sold it to has it and it still runs prefect. Miss that friggen mower.
 
All I have to say is Stihl>Husky>Echo all day long. Its Stihl or go home for us at work.

I still say you have something mounted backwards or wrong. Or...maybe the spring broke while you were messing with stuff, pull the spring assembly apart and check it out.

I love Stihl but not their prices. I'm just going to resell it for half of what I bought it for.
 
sorry couldn't help you out, just don't know enough about that blower especially without seeing anything :(
