Help with broken leather seat

My drivers power (leather) seat is broken on the right side. I can get the motor to decline the seat, however when I bring it back up to max incline it stops before the seat is upright, and the left side is higher than the right. It feels like something is broken in the seat back mechanism because if I push against the seat back (like to lift myself to get something out of my back pocket) the seat bows back on the right.

I suspect it has something to do with this part of the seat:

I'm not sure if this is a weak spot in the seat or if there is a way to fix it? My other passenger seats are in good condition so if this one is fixable I would love to keep them.
I did swap the two front seats to cloth for now, because the broken drivers seat tweaked my back and its been painful since...

I searched and everyone seems to have problems with lumbar support, but nothing related to the seat back adjustment!
 
I looked at it some more and it looks like the pin that is sticking out is moving around with some slack, but I haven't disassembled it further to look.

Not sure if it's worth trying to fix or just take to the wreckers...
