So if any of you were apart of the earlier thread you know the .. sad.. story. I had a driveshaft pop out (the driveshaft slipped and was in its two pieces) i had to remove the rear (bolted to 3rd member) u joint and then slide the two pieces back together.. it went back in and i have realized i put it back in "out of phase" so the two ujoints on the shaft are 90 degrees opposite. My question is can i remove the rear u joint without jacking the truck up and pull the shaft into its two pieces (so the splines are exposed and the rear of the shaft is completely unbolted) then spin the rear piece 90 degrees and put it back together and bolt it back on to have the shaft back "in phase" ? Is this the only way to do it? I know you are supposed to mark it all when pulling it off, but seeing as this didnt happen on purpose, i wasnt able to. Thanks for any help!
