Help with Garmin mount

So, I've got a Nuvi3550LM, which I like a lot, but I seek advice for mounts.

NOW: Using the Garmin "pinch" mount in the front AC vent. But it doesn't always stay put and I want something else.

WANT: I just want a better version of the same AC vent style, so seeking suggestions.

DO NOT WANT: Most any other style. I like it located where it is. Just need something more inclined to stay put.

FOUND SO FAR: ProClip. RAM. I did a lot of searching and found these, and a third one was not identified. Opinions welcome.

Don't use my Garmin in my 2018 4Runner but have found the ProClips the best option on my cars without a navigation system.

Simple and sturdy and allows for great GPS reception. You will have to drill a hole or four. I used ~1/4" spacers to offset mount from switch.
Wire runs under flasher switch (gps unit hanging down in this photo). Switch still usable from behind mount. CD still accessible.

I use a Ram X Mount for my phone for daily driving (as seen in both these videos) and a good friend uses the larger one for his GPS and Garmin (see second video for ideas).

The Ram mounts are super sturdy and I have found much better at holding the devices during 4x4 than the pinch mounts.

Both Proclip and Ram make quality stuff. I've used a combo of the two at work to mount a tablet. The Proclip phone holder that I use everyday is at least 10 years old, been mounted in multiple vehicles, and still looks new.

Ram seems to be a little more versatile as far as using the same mount for different devices. Proclip holders tend to be more device specific. (I've got one that's adjustable and have used it with multiple iPhones.)

For what you want, I would go with Proclip. No drilling required. If you think you might want to put your phone there sometimes, use the Proclip mount and attach a Ram X-grip to it.

Thanks, exactly the kind of advise I'm looking for. I will only mount the Garmin in the vent, I like it there. I never leave it out - it goes back into the console whenever I leave the car. I will not use a phone, the wife always has hers and Googles anything else we need. Basically, I just want a better mount than the Garmin one that I'm using.
[MENTION=115963]DEERUNNER[/MENTION] I like that, it's probably the most reliable, but I don't use the Garmin often enough to want something quite that 'permanent'.
