i currently have a OR w/o the KDSS... while i love the thing off road, trying to see if there are anything that i can do to improve its on road performance

thinking either a icon stage 2 or a trd pro one, which should i get? which on would help with the body roll?

I don't care for lift since i'll be running stock 265, but will look for stiffer spring when i load more gear to the truck.

Mine is a heavily loaded non-KDSS 14 Trail (same as your Off Road). While I will admit the KDSS equipped 4Runners have a big advantage on road I regularly corner mine like in a sporty manner and with more vigor than 95% of the other drivers on the road. I realize it is not a Corvette and take that into account but I didn't feel at all disadvantaged by the factory suspension that was under it.

Neither of the suspensions you cited will do anything extra as far as body roll on road as that is controlled more by the sway bars. For heavy loads you can install an air bag kit on the rear, adjust the pressure in the bags to make up for heavier loads, and then air it back down when unloaded. This seems to be a popular choice for those who want to remain at factory ride height.

Surprisingly, in my experience, better tires help... this might have something to do with the rigidity of the sidewalls (but that could also be complete bs). I also don't have one with KDSS. I realize there is roll, but not so much that it would flip over or make me uncomfortable.

There are a lot of posts about tires, sway bar bushings, and springs and shocks - and how they change nosedive when braking and other handling characteristics.

Not really sure what you're looking for though.

there was a thread about whiteline urethane swaybar bushings that had quite a bit of buzz. some members were very happy with the change...
