I am looking to get side steps for a 2011 4runner trail edition... Are trail Side steps different than LT/ SR5?
Can you please include some pics? price you paid? and where the get the side steps?

Thanks much...

I still have stock rims and the dunlap tires. I am looking at getting Duratracs. There are many threads to look through on this forum to see all the different types of tires used.

When I called N-Fab, the said they were easy to install, just three or four bolts on each side. I had a shop put them on because I have nowhere to do it myself, cost $75.

I was able to find the following side step.

Toyota 4 Runner 3 in Black Running Boards: eBay Motors (item 170511489513 end time Oct-07-10 16:55:33 PDT)

It's not my first choice as I like the nerf bars a lot but they are my a bit expensive.
Any ways, what do yo guys think of the side steps in the link?
Has anyone bought them before?
I am looking for something around 300 bucks or so.

Thank u.

I just called back the manufacturer. These Side Steps suck big time. Don't even waste your time nor money. No support in the middle and they look like they could last 2 months max before they bend or rust. Be aware.

As I understood these N-Fab steps are ONLY for the TE. I don't know if they can be adapted to the SR5 or Limited.

I purchased those same N-Fab "Wheel to Wheel" Nerf Steps for $330 (includes Free shipping). Here is the link: N Fab Toyota Wheel To Wheel Nerf Steps 01-04 Tacoma Double Cab (3" main tube) - 5' Bed

These are the easiest steps to install, you just need a socket wrench to take out existing bolts. Then hold the Nerf Steps in place and add the supplied bolts and washers. 5 bolts per step.

Tip: Buy a bottle of Loctite® 243 (threadlocker) and apply on the threads of the bolts, just to make sure they don't come loose over time.

I gotta say, the N Fabs are great. I bought them after seeings ALS Varunner pics. Little expensive, but worth it

Nfab

I got them for my TE as well and they really do help, gives the 4r a tougher look. I'm just a little wary about the possible rusting but will have to wait and see. I was also worried before I got them that they may stick out a bit but they are just fine. It does add some protection from door dings in crowded parking lots as well.
