Currently having issues with my 2004 SR5. Initially the rear latch would not lock in place and hold. It would move into place, try to lock (You can hear the motor) then it would unlock itself.
Looked into it, lot of people said it was the Actuator.
Today I took apart everything, sprayed every single part with lubricant and rust removal. The result, the gate now locks in place, but will not unlock anymore, have to manually pull the leaver from underneath the cover to release it. Initially was able to make the lock move just by pushing on it with a screwdriver, now I need to slam it in order for it to move, if that info helps at all?
Watching the system, I noticed it seems very weak, like it's dying or low battery, sometimes it would lock properly and even unlock and sometimes it wouldn't.
Any advice on what you guys think could be causing it would be perfect! Or what I should try doing next or playing around with?
