ARE YOU TEXTING IN CLASS?!

Haha, you can go with a bodylift but if your wheeling, your going to want a new suspension, armor, supplies(winch, spare CV, metric tools, spare tire, etc.)

Like Ripcord said, do some more homework and let us know what you find. We will then give opinions of your research.

i cannot in good mind recommend one, especially 3 inches of nothing but bodylift...save up and do it right, take your time and hang on criasgslist and keep an eye for tundra and landcruiser stuff as mentioned in the lift FAQ that steezemcqueen took his time to write up... there has been lots of guys your age still in school that have some pretty sweet rigs because they just waited and stock piled parts for 6 months to a year until they had their complete lift and tires and all of the rest...i think if you look around not many people run "large" body lifts, most just run an inch or 2 at most for various reasons....

a stock truck is quite capable, maybe just set your sights a little lower until you can get a real set-up as adding a body lift does nothing to improve off road performance other than clear larger tires.... really though i do think it plays out into your bigger plan for the rig...how much wheeling do you plan to do and what sort of wheeling?

edit: here i took this time to type akll of this out and newbie got told in the mean time....i suck....:crybaby:

To properly lift you will need about 1000 bucks by the time you are done. I would wait, spend your money on maintenence, and stockpile parts like others have suggested.

A body lift won't do you much good other than clearing tires, and then you are looking at a 3" frame gap, which is UUUUUGLY to say the least, and just says to everyone else on the trail you are too cheap to do it the right way.

If you wait around and watch the classifieds here and over at Yotatech you can put together a lift pretty cheaply. Oh yeah, and read that post someone else already mentioned titled - LIFT FAQ. After reading that one 10-12 times, THEN you can ask a specific question, but if you just ask general questions, you will get flamed every time.

daystar has a like 150$ spacer lift its not as good as toytec or anything it doesnt get you new springs, shocks, struts, anything its just a 1.5" strut spacer in the front and a 2.5" rear coil spacer i did that and its perfect i dont have any body lift at all... thats dirt cheap too for a lift (again its just spacers)

2.5" overall lift btw

I'd say forgo the 2~3" lift and just shoot for a 16" lift. Can't promise that the mpgs wouldn't hit you in the wallet hard though.....
