Herculiner fenders

Anyone have some pics of this? I am considering two toning with herculiner along the fenders and body lines in order to fully conceal all the patch panels I installed. The spray paint looks fine, but if I used Herculiner, its rough popcorn look by nature will make it impossible to tell.

Anyone done this?

Is that gray a standard over the shelf color for herculiner? If it is, it will go much better with my silver truck.

I never ended up finishing the rig it had major side body damage and I ended up buying another 85 that was near mint so I gave up trying to repair it. I planned to do another one using monsterliner because they have more color options and have UV protection.

The problem most people run into is that black will slowly wilt down and fade so looks like crap after a hot summer. Using a color that doesn't absorb so much heat was my theory to lessen the effect.

It's pure white actually and it's rare to find from herculiner I recommend monsterliner

I may not two tone all the way across, I may just herculine (or other brand) the wheel wells. Thats where most of the patch work is. I am probablly only going to need a quart. Buy my own foam roller or texture roller.

I want a light or medium gray, I don't think black will look very good, plus with gray I wont have to worry too much about UV fading.

I know a guy down town Bellingham that did this to an 86 4runner. It looks ok, I wouldn't want it on my daily driver. However it would be real nice for a trial rig. I will snap a photo of it next time I see it.

You may like it but years from now some owner will hate you cause they will have to grind off all the crappy looking bedliner off to get it re-painted.
