It was a dream to build and drive everyday...

I never once had a problem out of it, I treated it like a baby and it loved me back. I sold it to a local guy who offered me the right price for it and I figured Id do something different but I couldnt get away from toyota.

Very, very cool truck man. What kind of wheels do you have on there, and what were the offset and e.t.'s on it? Did you have to get spidertrax spacers or everything work out ok the way they were?
 
Modifications: WAAG brushgaurd, KC lights, folding hitch-mounted deer rack, Sirius satellite radio, Sony head unit, Sony 6x9's, Sony 6.5's, Sony tweeters, Sony 1200w ten" in custom box, two Sony Xplod amps, Volant CAI, NGK Iridium IX plugs, Flowmaster exhaust, no tip, cornfed 3inch lift, Spidertrax spacers, custom dark red calipers, original 17" Toyota wheels, 285/70/17 Cooper Discoverer STT's, ceramic pads all around, Husky floor liners throughout, custom VVTI V8 logo on hatch

this is what I had on it...I forget what the offset was, sorry. It was the original factory toyota wheels for a sport edition so you should be able to look it up if you need it.

wow...I just went back and saw the beginning of the posts and noticed that this thread was before I changed over to my cooper's. sorry for the bad info. I dont remember what those wheels were called, once again sorry, I wasnt much help to you.
 
No problem man. So I'm assuming then whatever wheels you did put on you didn't use spacers with either. Had bad was your rubbing when you did have those 20's on? I would assume you definitely trimmed the bumper/fender lining, but how about your UCA's? Also, those wheels look like they're AR's made more for Chevy offsets, so I'm assuming that works OK? Sorry for so many Q's, but I'd really like to try the possibility of 33x12.5"er's and any insight would definitely help out.

They were AR's and I sold them to a guy driving a chevy and he says he doesnt have any rubbing so that makes sense that they were probably made for them. I had a little rubbing but I fixed it with some minor dremmel work...there are pics up here on the site somewhere. you can do some searching to find them. I loved the look but the functionality of them was not as good as the thinner coopers I put on last. if you plan on keeping it on the street then I would definately do it but if you want to go offroad then I would steer clear of them.

Dang it. I plan on offroading my ride. Love the looks, want something that'll turn heads on the street while functional on the trail. Understandably you trimmed, but what did you find wrong with this setup on the trail?
 
Even with the trimming and dremmel work I could not keep them from bottoming out on the well in the front. The swing arm was also rubbing on full flex. they were pretty but not functional.

Well thanks for all of your input Lee. I guess I'm gonna stick to something that's around the 285 profile on an 18" rim, otherwise I would've definitely pulled the trigger on that setup.
