hesitation during acceleration

i've been noticing some hesitation on rare occasions while accelerating.

when it does occur, it seems to be only from a stop or slow speed and taking off. i step on the pedal and RPMs go up while accelerating but then hesitates for a split second, dropping RPMs and comes right back. It may do it 2x but then continues on just fine.

anyone experience anything like that?

I haven't myself but you might look at cleaning out your throttle body as well as your MAF sensor and see if that helps. If the throttle is sticking at all the electronics might be a little slow opening it up. Could also check the state of your trans fluid as well.
