Hesitation going from R to Drive...anyone else?

I think this was spoken about a while ago, but I could not find the thread. Every time I shift from reverse to drive backing out of my driveway there is a hesitation before the gear engages it seems like. Its weird, its about 1-2 sec hesitation. I have asked 2 service guys at one dealer and 1 at another and two of them said its normal and one said its the because of the all-time 4wd. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

it maybe due to the transmission intelligence so you dont get that thunk going from R to D that you use to get in the older tranny's.

i remember when lexus first came out they had this feature, and i think it has filtered down to the toyota engines now.

i could be out in left field on this, and if i am, can someone correct me please.
