So I was sent over from Tacoma world, love that site, I recently upgraded from an 09 double cab to a 98 sr5 4r! It has 196k on the clock and was just inspected today. It needs front brake hoses, front rotors and shocks. Other than that all body panels and glass are original, frame is in excellent shape and the body is virtually rust free minus the rear bumper. Also the valve cover gaskets need to be done. It was dealer maintained its entire life with records. My question is if I need to replace the shocks do you all recommend also doing the coil springs? I do not want to lift it. Should I go after market with no lift or factory parts? Any thoughts?

Depends on what you can find as far as stock replacements.
Moog probably makes aftermarket coils for it.
Dealer may be pretty expensive of they still have them.

If your going to do the front brakes you should do the Tundra 231mm upgrade. Tons of write ups on here and seems easy to do with big gains and not much more cost than going with the 4runner setup.
