Hey Guys, I'm new to my 4runner

So I bought my '12 4runner this weekend. Since I live in Virginia, I will have to put a front license plate on it..........grrr. But anyway, bypassing government stupidity, I was wondering if anyone knows of an aftermarket front license plate holder. I called Toyota and they don't make one. Any tips? Whats wrong with adding front license plates? I live in Virginia and I don't see any issues with it. It helps the police identify you if they're across from you in an intersection

Well, for 36k, I didn't relish the thought of drilling into my front bumper. So I ended up buying a bull bar to keep that from happening. I thought it was pretty lame, as many others have said on this forum that Toyota didn't have an actual mount for the front plate. Kinda dumb. :lol:

Don't do it. Took a while to add mine in Texas. Finally got a warning from a Trooper about 2 years later then I finally added it.

Just wait until you finally get pulled over.

I don't understand 99% of the responses in this thread. You clearly want something to display your plate on the front with out having to drill.

I haven't seen anything like that but you could attempt to fab your own bracket. Or zip ties to be ghetto and quick. Something to look into, but may not pan out, look at brackets for different things, like cell phone mounts and what not. Bracketron makes some good stuff that maybe you could use to mount behind the bumper that sort of wraps around to the front to hold the plate.
