well if yall didnt know i just picked up a 2000 4r a couple of weeks ago and was doing a tune up when i my 4r wouldn't start after the spark plug change...well i found what was wrong with it and now i just got my 3in ome suspension kit that just came in and after installing the fronts shock towers we accidentally pulled the cv boot off and joint on the inside(i dont know what its are called) poped out too...we stuck it back in place and also the boot too but it did leaked alot of the grease out too but one of my buddy who was a mechanic said that it was fine but idk on that cuz there was a lot of grease that came out...(we did this last night) then this morning when i was going to the store i heard a grinding sound from the front..it sounds like something metal scraping on metal too.. so i drove it back home and parked it and now im thinking that i might not have enough grease in the boot or that we might of f***ed up the cv...i have no idea whats going on so if yall can help me out and see whats wrong with it, i really dont what to go and buy a new cv axle cuz after buying all the parts for the tune up and the lift kit and some other stuff to make it run for a long time has set me back in funds a lot..thanks again guy really need help with this one..i guess its just my luck that im having all these problems with the 4r.. :(

P.S. if your in san diego area and know your stuff on the 4r..if yall can help i would greatly appreciated...

Why don't you just put new grease in the cv? That's the first thing I would do before going out and buying new parts

i was going to put grease in but can old and new grease mix?? and is the sound im hearing is due to the cv not having enough grease?

You should be able to pump some grease in the boot, and re-clamp it. It doesn't matter if you put new grease with old grease, it will be just fine. I'm not sure why it would be making a noise but I'd try it and see.

ok, so ill try to put in some new grease then but its the inner cv boot so do i have to get some special grease for that or can i just use an all-purpose grease?
