Hey Mr. Can I buy your 4Runner?

I've had a few people ask about my red first gen, not the green third gen though. Like hell I'd sell them anyway.

The MKIV supra I recently bought has gotten far more attention than both 4Runners. Cool car but it is not even close to being where I want it. I guess what I'm saying is - it takes just the right kind of person to notice a 4Runner.

I have never had any ask me... but 3rd gens are very abundant where I live, well 4runners in general are. So I suppose it probably depends on where you live. I have gotten quite a few looks and waves however. I live in a very offroady place so that is fun.

Omg yes all the dam time it always starts out the same question. Nice ride love those Michelins. What kind of work have u done to it? ummmm maintenance! "Nice" have u lifted no! blah blah blah would ya take 6300 for it nope. why not because I own it and know everything about it and where its been... By the ways I am all factory with the exception of LED interior and a roof basket and 9' steel whip antenna. I guess its a compliment and i shouldn't be rude. O well :rant:

Got asked last week and then got into an argument about how they didn't believe I had the original bumpers as "they all rust out" apparently.
"Not if you take care of them" I said followed by "It's not for sale". LOL

It seems like almost every time I take my car in for some kind of service at Toyota or Discount Tire, there's always someone who wants to buy it. One time it wasn't even someone associated with discount tire, this guy walked over to the desk and asked who's it was, the tech pointed to me and he marched right over and proceed to make me an offer. I almost took it but I couldn't!

Gotten multiple offers for mine, one Honda dealer tried to buy it, offered $4,000 over book and told me that money is no object for the people that wanted to buy it from them. I have had multiple people roll their windows down and offer to buy mine. This was all before I installed the lift, rims, tires.

Since I've had mine, I've probably had about a note a year left on my window asking if I'd consider selling it. The craziest one was a guy who a few years ago was waiting for me at the dog park. We started talking about it and he loved the clean setup, but when I told him how many miles were on it (I think it was around 70k at the time) he said he would give me $18k. Not sure how serious he was.

Wow, I had the same exact thing happen to me at the Honda dealer. I was looking at new accords with the wife and the salesman ask me 3 separate times if he could buy my 4runner for himself. I kept on telling him it wasn't for sale and I couldn't part with it. Sometimes I think these trucks are made of gold or something.

Oh no...let's not do that. That would be way too scary. Not the dollar amount...but the explaining I would have to do to wife if she ever got wind of it! Yikes! I'd be into chocolate and roses everyday of the week.:nono:
