Hey here is what I got.
97 4 runner limited 3.4L 4x4
230000 miles.
About a 2 weeks ago I got a bunch of water in the engine out playing in the mud. Thought the mud hole was gonna be shallow... not so much... So i got as much of the water out as possible by manually turning over the engine with the spark plugs out. Me and a friend worked on it a bit to see if we could get any more water out of it and then put it back together. Just so you know we removed everything all the way down to right before we started taking all the camshafts out. We took out the passenger side exhaust camshaft out and thats it. We decided against taking anything else out past that becuase of time restraints. So we put everything back together. I did an oil change, tune up ( plugs, wires and a new air filter) and changed the tranny fluid just to be safe. Tried to start it nothing. Come to find out we had put the exhuast camshaft back in a couple teeth off.. becuase we were using the wrong timing marks... So we got that fixed. As we were working on it i changed out the camshaft sensor, mass air flow sensor and the crankshaft position sensor. I finally got it running yesterday but it Idles really rough and speratic. It has white smoke coming out of the exhuast and trys to die on me when I come to a stop or just idling. I got it tested at auto zone and it gave me miss fire codes (p0300, p0301, p0303, p0305) any suggestions on what it might be?
also replaced the alternator becuase it was making the horrible whining noise. It tested good but before the mud hole of death it didnt make any noise.
