Hi lift usage

Just wondering how many guys/gals here carry/use one. I have a cast 48", never had an occasion to use one yet. I know they can be dangerous but very useful as well. Trying to decide whether to mount this on my 2010 SR5:decision: Thanks for any input

Not sure why they'd be dangerous? I take mine everywhere so I can lift it if need be. It's been used quite frequently and I love it. If I was you I'd mount it if you can use it, why not?

I have one on my roof and use it frequently. Even just for maintenance.

I have one that I carry with me on wheeling trips. I haven't had the need to use it on the trail yet, but I did use it at home to familiarize myself with how it operates. Here's how I mounted mine (3rd gen - so it doesn't help the OP). I store the base in my toolbox inside the T4R

Yeah, the hi lift is a jack and should be treated as such.

Make sure to lubricate them often if you store them on the out side of your rig. Nothing worse than a non working jack when you have a flat.

More important though, youll need sliders or something solid to lift the vehicle with.

True. Mine only goes on the rig when wheeling. Otherwise, it's in the garage. I have a bottle jack that stays in the truck for the dreaded flat tire change.

I use mine a ton, for jacking and for winching. Always have a bottle of WD-40 in the back to lubricate it if need be.
