I have been lurking here a little while. I just bought an 08 SR5 2WD 4Runner. This is not my first Toyota experience as I bought an 06 SR5 Tacoma new in 06...also my dad drove a 78 Celica for about 20 years, LOL.

Congrats and welcome. I got a '05 DC PreRunner with the off-road package. It's a great truck... couldn't be happier with it, only way would be a Tundra CrewMax. Have you noticed that even though the Tacoma is closely related to the 4Runner, but the 4Runner is so much more refined? Not saying the Tacoma is bad in any way, I still love both vehicles and wouldn't give either one up for the other.

A buddy of mine has the same truck as mine, '06 DC 4x4 with the sport package, he loves his just as much as I do mine.

Yes, I have noticed that. Noise/ride quality is much different. I will get some pics up soon.
