I'm looking to buy a Toyota 4Runner as my first car...looking at an 85.

They are good first cars, second cars, third cars, etc..., but we don't really refer to them as cars. Can't go wrong with a 4runner. I would look at the 2nd (89-95) and 3rd (96-02) generation ones. Keep in mind that they will go over 200k miles and many times up to 300k. So don't be scared to look at one that has over 100k miles. Make sure you get a 4WD one. You'll regret it if you don't, unless you have absolutely no plans of off-roading.

I live around Paradise Hills area. Can't go wrong with any Toyota as your 1st car/truck though. Had an 86 Celica as my 1st car.
