HID Conversion kit installation?

I got the whole kit, wiring and all, i have just the bulbs right now, but they just arent bright enough on the street, so i wanted to step it up a little, its the 6000 watt diamond white bulbs

Just HID bulbs and ballast or a full retrofit? Either way people on here have done both.

6000 watts!!!!! :jaw drop:

lol. Sounds like you need to just search for HID on the forum here, and do a bunch of reading about lighting in general.

I'm kind of confused. You have the whole kit, but you just have the bulbs? And by 6000 watt, you probably mean 6000K. It will likely be 35W or 55W which is substantially brighter. Anyways, there are all kinds of threads on HID how-to's on here. It's quite easy, good luck.

Haven't done it on my 4Runner, yet. But it's very straight forward. DDMTuning.com has a pretty good install guide in their site.

I bought my HIDS off of eBay just like you, but bought a different brand. I too bought the 6000K and they are way brighter than even the high beams on my girlfriends T4R. I see you bought the Bi-Xenon ones. I got the low beam only types, basicly because they are bright enough that I don't need high beams.

Post a night time picture from the inside of your rig and I will post one of mine and see which is brighter.

Honestly eBay HIDS are hit or miss. The best option is just doing the DDM kit.

You said you have just the bulbs, did your kit come with ballasts?

well i bought the bulbs a while ago, but they just aren't bright enough, they look sick but arent bright enough on the road, and yeah it comes with the ballasts

I know I might get some flack for this but, when I first installed mine they werent very bright so I took the little shield off of the bulb itself. It made a world of difference. Before you ask, no I don't get people flashing their brights at me.

Also have you tried aiming your headlights?

yeah i went and got them adjusted cause i got aftermarket smoked headlights, i went and got them professionally done, and thye shine on the road fine just not all the brightness i really need

Looks like you have the same headlights as me. I bought my housings off E-bay and the only problem is that the diamond housing speckles the pattern. If you have a real 6000K 35W HID kit (bulbs and ballasts) then there will be no problem with brightness!

Not from your end at least... Oncoming drivers surely wont think your HIDS are great

Do a HID Projector Retrofit!!

PM me if you want to see TSX, S2K, LS430 & FX-R HID Projector Retrofit.

I can honestly say I've been in another car and passed my 4R going the other way. The lights were bright, but not bright enough to make me say "Damn that's bright!"

Maybe the 4runner housings dont have the intense glare some other vehicles have, Because around here you get blinded every night by someone with hids in regular housings. Its great to have halogen spots that come one right away, because generally they cant flash you back ;)

Im not gonna be the guy that bags on another for putting HID's in your headlights cause i did that however i hated it! You guys must have some good night vision or something cuase when i did it this is what i got

i couldn't see anything past 25 or so feet. I almost hit some deer and all kinds of stuff. and with all that glare i didn't get flashed that much but people were pulling over to let me pass. I aimed them down and it got even worse. i seemed to get flahed even more haha anway id have to agree with the projector retrofit idea just cause ive done both and the latter is just awesome! see for yourself
