HID Install -

So I bought a new 4 runner, and today have spent about $300 thanks to all of you and your pictures..

Is there, somewhere, an online manual or install guide to HID? I'd love the lamps, but I'm a bit hesitant about taking my grill off and doing anything with the wires. I'm an academic geek- so this is a whole new adventure to me.

The forums seem to indicate that the install is easy or very easy- but I have no idea as to what this entails.

Depending which kit you purchased, you may or may not have an online guide. Regardless, they aren't very detailed. You don't have to remove the grill to run the wires across, just the radiator shield. Just pop off all of circular black tabs with a flathead screwdriver, and it comes right off. As for the bulbs themselves, they come out with a quick twist and pull, then disconnect them from the harness.

As for making the wires look clean, rather than a giant mess, make sure you have extra cable ties (zip ties) on hand, because the ones provided aren't enough.

What HID kit did you purchase?

I haven't purchased one yet. I'm trying to figure out what all is involved in installing one before I do that. I've gone ahead and gotten a bugshield, and a bullguard. I suspect I'm going to get addicted to adding things.

Yeah you will. As far as the HID install goes, if you go with the Xenon Depot kit, hopefully you don't get their notorious bad customer service. If you order it from them and need help, shoot me a PM, I'd be glad to send you a detailed walk through with pictures to make your process go much faster and easier.

Does anyone know anything about HID-SiN.com's Genesis HID kits? They seem fairly easy and straight forward, but can't find any reviews of them.
