Hey this is my first post so here it goes: I have an 2006 Sport and can't decide whether or not to get an HID kit. On everyone else's car they look awesome (especially the blue) but I've just heard so many pro's and con's. I live in Utah and I'm in a lot of snow fall, I go camping constantly so I need bright lights for my path, and I just want some awesome lights. So is it a Yes or a No?

Wow! This has me really considering some HID lights. Did you use the HID harness or plug directly into your 4Runner's lighting circuit?
I'm in the same position as the OP... want 'em, but don't know a ton about 'em. I'd probably go with 3000K for fogs and 5000K for low beams.

All kits I have seen, and the ones I purchased, come with the wiring harnesses that plug directly into your existing wiring on your 4R it really couldn't get much easier, and did I mention it looks great!

But they sell a separate wiring kit that connects directly to the battery... I'm assuming that is not needed for our 4Runners? And yes, I think that you hinted at the fact that they look great!

I had issuse with mine not having enough power on my 03, sometimes they'd both come on, sometimes only 1 or the other, so I got the relay harness

I do NOT have HIDs, I was seriously considering them but also wanted something that was cost-effective too. I spoke to a few people and was recommended to look at the sylverstar xfe bulbs for both my low & high beams. They are significantly cheaper and are basic, at best, to install. They are (from what I understand) the brightest bulbs you can buy until you get the HID. I'm extremely happy with them and they are everything I wanted it to be. Just my $.02!

Love my ddmtunig hids, highly recommend them. I didn't use the relay, shouldn't be needed with their basic kit.

This is a true statement. When you go HID, you NEVER go back to halogens. Nice!!

To the OP: You have projectors so go with an HID kit. Try to keep between 4300-6000K. Don't go above (blue-violet color). Why? Because those colors are WORTHLESS at night. They produce no useful light. Do it because it will IMPROVE your vision, not because "they look cool" (which they do any way
)

I've known tons ofpeople who have used them, very good kits. I have heard of them not accurately selling color temps, but other than that its legit. I have no issues with my color temp. It has been said they only sell a couple temps but sell them as different ones. I.e. carry a 4300k kit and sell it as both a 4300k and 5000k, false advertisement. I've read about that, not sure what happened with it. Kit works great and is priced right, worth it to me even if temp is off a bit (mine isn't, just saying).
