HID problem

I just installed 6000K HID kit from Apexcome. Connected all wires, turned lights on - and NOTHING HAPPENED. I had halogen system and this kit plugs in bulb socket directly (no battery connection with relay). I dont even hear ballasts attempting to ignite at all. Is my positive-negative connection reversed or do I need relay and battery harness?

I have never heard of an HID kit that doesn't have ballasts, relays, etc. That said, it usually needs a connection to the battery. I'd contact the company and see what they tell you.

It does have ballasts (wont ignite though). Here's the pic:

You can check the ballast by connecting it directly to the battery, if the bulb ignites fine, then its not your ballast. Check all connectors and make sure they are making good contacts.

I don't have a HID, but I can figure out its the same technology as a our household lightings.. so I will solder my connections. The more solid the connection the better IMO..
:)

Edit: In ordinary bulbs, if you have bad contact between your bulb and the power supply, the bulb will flicker. And so as with HID, a bad contact between the HID bulb and the ballast or you if have a defective ballast also your bulb flickers.
But a bad contact between the ballast and the power supply/switching means nothing..

Got it fixed. It was reversed polarity. Kit is desined for BMW and Mazda whose polarity is opposite of Toyotas. Cut, flipped and soldered low voltade side of harness and have it working like a charm. Love the results. I'll have new post with pics. Thank you all for help.
