What would be considered a 'hidden container' though!?

What about cars that have the spare wheel inside the trunk under the liner? Isn't that hidden? might as well arrest everyone owning a sedan because they might have something they shouldn't... so stupid.

Or what about the new GM center console that has the garage behind the screen, if you haven't seen it they're awesome!

Factory compartments are exempted...but one has to wonder how long it will be before someone gets caught in the net for one.

There is always that cop and prosecutor who does not care much for the LAW.

Good find. In Thailand he would be given an swift death sentence...

The death penalty for supplying losers and stupid people with a way to be dumber, that makes perfect sense...

Even better if its for a empty hidden compartment and presumption of guilt, based upon a preponderance of evidence. Preemptive law, I love it, screw the constitution, we need that here.

What we really need is DNA testing for the likelihood of future criminal activity, then we could just kill them at birth...just think of all the politicians and dirty cops we could get rid of...

I agree. The vast majority of law enforcers are corrupt. And hardly anyone who is prison actually is guilty. Just ask them. When I need help I call the local felon, who was probably wrongly convicted by corrupt officers as ND prosecutors.

That is neither true, or on point. The point is that preemptive law enforcement is not constitutional. Making a hidden compartment, or hidden room, or any sort of secrecy, a crime, because it might be used for criminal activity, is throwing our constitution to the wind.

Preemptive law enforcement has always, until of late, been ruled unconstitutional.

Preempting crime, based upon behavior that harms no one, or causes no property damage, is insane. It basically declares that someone might commit a crime, therefore they need to be punished.

Criminalizing a secret compartment, with out any evidence of an actual crime, is clearly a 4th amendment violation. It the state saying you have no right to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures.

As well it presupposes that if you wish to exercise the 4th amendment, you must be a criminal.

Arresting someone for having a hidden compartment in their car, without any other evidence of crime, is like measuring some ones head and placing them in asylum, or on a work farm, because the shape and size of head indicates they will engage in criminal activity or become mentally ill, two cases that actually happened in the US and Europe.

My DNA statement, while sounding out of line, was to make a point. The proponents of eugenics dream of the day, when they can decide, based upon DNA code, who lives, who dies. Preemptive law..

Sounds kinda like that movie "Minority Report" let's arrest them before they commit the crime.

If you think that is crazy watch the Vice HBO S3 special on the US prison system and Pat attention to the part where they talk about convictions on drug crimes for ghost drugs.

Cases where no drugs were found but two witnesses have been compelled to testify (eg cover their own ass) against a third person that the drugs were there, despite the fact that police found no drugs. Apparently this has between used in courtrooms in the war on drugs quite often.

In Arkansas, their are individuals doing what amounts to life under these circumstances. 80 year sentences, under the 70% sentence.
