Hiding spots for spare key?

I hid a key INSIDE my vehicle, and also have a "taplock" installed for that instance I don't have my key on me, or have lost it, and need to get in my truck.

Easy to connect, and works great!

Taplock Keyless Entry System by Asianwolf Car Alarm Manufacturer (do a search and I'm sure you can find it elsewhere too, including ebay)

Had the same one installed on my previous car and uninstalled it before trading it in to install on my Runner. Again, has worked great for many years.

This idea is ingenious! Thanks atlanta man!

Of course i didn't want you guys to tell me exactly where to hide the key or where you hide yours (berettashot117) :) but on this trip i'm covering 3000 miles and there will be some off-roading on some bumpy roads and dirt and possibly some water, so the key cant be in a place that will fall out or get messed up by the elements. Also the car will be left in the open for hours while hiking, etc, so i was worried that if it isn't hidden well enough or if someone happens to find it then the 4runner will be gone! However, atlanta man's plan takes care of those worries. Thanks!

This has been my scheme since day one. But remember to do an education refresher couple times a year for those others in your family or travelers who need to know. They forget the details pretty fast !

The steel key / magnet has many options for where it goes depending on how inconvenient or easy to find that you want to make it.
