HID's, looking to get a set of new lights.

Looking for a set of HID's for my 4Runner. What's a real good brand or get good reviews? I know Morimoto is a good one, DDM is too with decent reviews. Just unsure which ones to get.

I had a set on my truck that I put on back in April of 2010 & was still working when I sold it back in February, had 6K in lows and fogs I'm looking for 5K-6K. They were Spencer HID's, think they were Phillip Products.

But I'm looking for opinions and suggestions!

I made a review http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-g...headlight-bulbs-06-09-projector-housings.html for XenonDepot LED and HID upgrades. LED tech is getting better, but can't match HID's yet. I'll take a pic tonight of the output and post it on the linked thread.

You need to do the search button! You are going to get heat over this!
 
If you want to do a quality retrofit then go with Morimoto from TRS.

If you plan no retrofit at all and just want to blast light all over the place for the least amount of cash spent then get a $60 DDM kit.

I bought my DDM's a month after I got my 4runner (2 years ago)

5k Fogs & 5k Headlights

Worked flawless & w/out a hiccup 2 years strong. Best $75 spent!

I used the xenon depot h11 kit in my 2008. I was worried about scatter but they really do look great with a good cut off. No flashing from oncoming traffic. Can't beat the kit I grabbed.

Yes you have projectors alrwady, but they are NOT HID projectors. The TRS kit replaces your current projectors for true HID projectors.

Yes a cheap DDM kit would work, but if you are going to do it, do it right and go with HID projectors and D2S HID bulbs.

Actually you can easily beat that setup with a proper HID projector and OEM D2S bulbs. My modified RX330 projectors will put out much better light on the road than an h11 kit in halogen projectors.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm kinda leaning towards this setup.
Should I get 35 or the 55 Watt one? Do they burn/melting issues with the 55 watt?

Also, you got pics of your setup? I think I'm gonna go with the 5500K.

What does this pic show....nothing!!! Ask the dude that got LED bulbs. Garage shot looked like this, be he even admitted he had no throw And ended up swapping to HIDs.

A HID projector with D2S bulbs will always be better than just throwing a rebased HID bulb in a halogen projector!! When will you people learn?!!

I personally went with OEM 35W matsushita ballasts and Phillips 85122 bulbs. I would personally suggest 4300K bulbs. These give the most lumen output. The 85122 bulbs will colorsgift to closer to 5000K through their life.

No pics yet. I am almost finished tuning the projectors prior to install. Should hopefully have them installed within the next few weeks. I will make a post showing some process and result pics
