HIDs problem... Help please

Okay so I installed HIDs for my headlights and foglights there Kensun HIDs slim digital ballast 8000k. I have interior lighting by LEDglow under my dash and back seats hooked up to my secu/horn fuse. When I turn on my HIDs or anything that causes the HIDs to turn on my interior lights just randomly turns on. I included a picture of how I installed it.

There were two plugs from the HIDs bulbs. I installed the plug closes to the bulb to my factory plug and the plug furthest from the bulb to the ballast. I did the same for all my lights.

So to understand this, your saying the interior leds turns on while the headlights are on?
This means you need to use another source to wire up the leds and either use a switch to turn it on or off.

It sounds like you wired your leds to get their power from a source that is driven by the headlights being turned on -- hence the leds turning on and off in conjunction with the headlights. As [MENTION=5149]riceandpho[/MENTION] said, you can either run them on a constant 12v source, and use a switch to turn the leds on and off, or you can run them to a source such as the dome lights, so they turn on when doors are opened/ unlocked, etc.. if you have a 12v volt/ circuit tester, it will make the job of finding a source for power that meets your requirements much easier.

I ditched the HID conversion and installed the new generation of LED bulbs because of the ease of installation, low power requirement and instant on. Makes flashing fools much better.

The lighting is much more even and the color more like daylight.

8,000K HID is way too blue and puts out far less like than the 4,300 to 5,500K color.

If a 4Runner owner is looking to see better at night, you might reconsider your selection.

What LED bulbs did you go with? I just installed DDM HIDs, but not thrilled with the warm up time (15-30 secs in this winter freeze). Brightness is good, but the bulbs are slightly different in color range which is irritating. I ordered 4300k, but looks like one is ever so slightly more like 4000k, just a touch of yellow.

Easiest plug & play bulbs ever.

I also added hyper spot LED driving lights too. Very narrow and bright beam that cuts thru the night, and fog.

Yes and No.. When the 4Runner is running and I turn the switch to turn on the headlights the interior LEDs would come on randomly. It never happened when I had halogens. The interior LEDs are just grounded in the engine bay where the battery ground is and the 12v power is powered by secu/horn fuse under the dash board.

The LEDs wire is the black with red stripe tapped into the secu/horn fuse (don't mind my mess haha)

This is the led tube and the wire is running along it to the fuse box under the dashboard

Yeah I did my research for new headlights and fog lights I decided to go with HIDs because the price was around my price range for both headlight and fog lights and it had good lighting. I couldn't stand driving with halogen bulbs anymore I don't like the yellow and the lighting sucks. The 8000k isn't blue at all its more white and has a hint of blue which is perfect for me.

its probably just interference from the hids, since that led controller box looks like it has a remote? you get what you pay for on the hids, a quality ballast shouldnt interfere. oem parts like denso or matsushita might be better. but cheap aftermarket bulbs hate those. those who complain of warm up time, its normal for hids to take that long to reach operating status, if you want a fast warm up time, use denso ballast or matsushita, oem parts are way to go. even my setup takes less than that long to reach full operation.

Yeah I guess it's just interference. The ballast seems pretty good since it's all metal and not plastic. The kit was 60 a pair but can't complain about that since there are better options out there.

do you know that they make something for you to add a circuit to the fuse box.
