the lights from kb are just aftermarket replacements for our stock lights. if a kit works with our stock housings then it should work with those.

on a similar topic. while on ebay i ran across projector headlight housings for 98-00 tacomas. any chance the headlight housings will fit our 4runners?
they had a halogen for high beams but that shouldn't be too hard to wire up.

i like having the hi and low beam option. and as far as the head lights they have a better beam pattern than my oem but steve would be the one to ask.

That's what I thought it was. How much more did you pay for that? I wonder if it is really necessary to have the hi and low beam and if it makes it harder to wire.

I was looking online and stumbled across these. Do you think they would work?

did you all disable your DRL's?

any idea what will happen if your DRS's are still in operation

from what ive gathered it is a good idea to disable the DRL's because of the way HID lamps work and it is bad to intermittently turn off and on and in the DRL's case at a lower power.

Deactivating DRL is actually a must given that HIDs require a constant 12V. DRL usually operate on a reduced current meaning that the lights will flicker if you try and have HID DRL.

grrrr, well im having some problems disabling my DRL's, so this may have to wait for a while.

so with the bi-xenons, what work has to be done, aside from adding in the ballasts. do you need to do any wire cutting, or dremel work or anything?

true i would love to have a nice cutoff but surprisingly the lights work very good obviously compared to stock. i like them anywho. and i dont know why the ballasts are incorrect since they came with the kit but whatev.

lol...to answer both questions, one word - Retrofit. That picture of the light spread on the garage door is what the light output looks like when a set of quality projectors are retrofitted into the headlight housings.

My HIDs produce the same light spread as in that gargage door pic. Here's a few of mine:

sorry but i have a question, i am going to buy a conversion kit for my 2002 4runner, and i was looking at the bulb sizes and my question is, are H4, 9003, and HB2 that same sizes?

Yeah, I've seen a photo of newer Taco where the guy did a retrofit w/ projectors on his headlights (seach the net, the photo's out there some where). He painted the entire housing black and used a different style of shroud that was also black. The finished product looked really good.

As far as adding "custom flair", another YT member has recently upgraded his projector retrofit on his 3rd gen w/ a set of bmw halo rings. He hasn't posted any photos yet, but I'm sure they look stellar.
