What Color Temp. HID should I get? I like the 4300K to keep the OEM look but I wouldn't mind the 6000K even though the 4300 are brighter, which would look the best?

Depends, where you buying them from? 35w or 55w? If your going with 55w, a lot of color will "wash". So 6000k will have a very slight hint of blue, but will look mostly white.
 
Go with the 4300k then, if you want bright and white light. I like a slight blue hint on mine. But its whatever you prefer
 
I run 55w 6k HID's in my lows, there is a slight hue of blue but more a nice white light.

You can see the difference in my low HID's vs the LF 170 HID color.

I'm running the 35watt 5000k kit from vled on my t4r and love it. I was worried about the color but it is perfect. not to yellow and not to blue it's almost perfectly white but if I had to say if it was leaning one way or the other I would say it's leaning more towards blue.
 
HIDs in a non retrofitted housing throw out glare. 55w will put out more glare than 35w. I think 35w is fine for headlights. I would say that's what 90% of people go with.

I have 35w in my projector housings and wish I would have have gone with 55w sometimes.

Yeah. It's pretty sweet. Retro's look so nice. I really want to do one.

K.C. you really think 6,000K is purple? I've seen it and I think it looks nice. More blue than 5,000K, but it's not bad at all, in my opinion.

I want to see the output of the kit from them before I drop the 300 on it though.
 
Sorry guys...I thought I posted photos of 5000k & 6000k on this forum.

I don't have any photos on it, but Google Search or HID Planet is the best option.

I just like 4300k, because it's the whitest & brightest.
 
I just ordered the 35w 6000k from DDM tuning. I hope its not purple :( From talking to a few guys at work they said its a little more blue than the 5000k all of them have. They all have 06+ projectors also so I imagine that will make a bit of a difference as well. My friend has an Acura with factory 4300k and comparing with his 08 4runner I definitely like the 5000k better. Looking at pictures and youtube videos I didnt think the 6000k was too bad. 5000k looked pretty white to me and I wanted just a small tint of blue. I thought Purple would be 10000k or 12000k amirite?

Edit: I found this on a HID website. This is the kelvin color description they give is golden yellow (3000K), bright white (4300K), white (5000K), crystal white (6000K), crystal blue (8000K), aqua blue (10000K), and purple-blue (12000K)

3000K is yellow
4300-5K is typically White (OEM)
6K is typically Blue
8K is usually Purple

It seems like different Brands have different results.
 
Let me know how the DDM looks in your headlights. I have their 3000k bulbs 35watt in my fogs (the digital kit) and it takes about 20 seconds to warm up and get bright. It throws yellow on the road for about 25feet, then starts to trail off. I was thinking of doing the 4300k in my lows, the 55watt kit. Just want to make sure if I need to get in my truck and go, that I dont have to wait for them to warm up before I can hit the road.
 
I'm online trying to order a xenon kit. I've selected my temp and now it's asking what bulb I want ie H1-10, 9145, 5202, H11, H13(low), 9008 (Low) etc. Just wondering what I need to put this in my 2001 T4R. Thanks! PS, Sorry to resurrect this thread from the dead.
