High beam and DRL stopped working randomly

Seeing if you guys have heard of this or had any experience with it. This weekend I noticed my DRL lights weren't on while i was driving/4runner was on. I tried high beams, got nothing... If i pull the stalk back to flash the highs when no lights are on, it will flash my low beams. Fog lights work as intended.

I've checked the high beam 10A fuses, both are good. Both bulbs look perfectly good (truck is a 2016 and odds of both going out simultaneously seems low). And I pulled and inspected the DRL/high relay and it seems to be fine from what you can see. Any other things I might be missing?

What would be the best way to test that relay, I have a test light but im not sure where that would get me?

You're not wrong, but always check the easy stuff first. I mean, how hard is it to pull a bulb?

What electrical mods have you made?

I've pulled them to take a look, they appear fine just don't have any extras laying around.. short of going to buy new ones to try I was just curious if there's any other thoughts.

No real mods except swapping out fog lights with LEDs.

Hi grabgrass,

Whenever weird ship seems to happen for no apparent reason, I'll usually go after the 'Main body ECU' first, particularly because it's one of the easiest thing to resolve... costs nothing and it's prone to lock-up just like a windows computer. What I recommend is to disconnect the negative battery terminal for a minimum of FOUR HOURS.

Reason being it takes about 4 hrs for the module to clear out the temporary files and history logs from the memory, then will go back to factory default settings. This needs to be done every so often just like your laptop needs to be restarted every once in a while! Give that a try... I'm almost sure that, that's the trouble! Be sure to come back and let us know how you made out; it could save someone else a trip to the dealership! 'Best to you'

Will do after work tomorrow, thanks! I'll report back after.

This recently happened to me as well. I thought it was the LED upgrade that blew out, but XenonDepot tested them and said it was all fine. Im going to try the ECU reset tonight, ill let you know if it works.

Headlights work fine

Gents, having simular issues but not quite. Have a 2015 5th gen SR5. All my running lights stopped working. I recently swapped fog, headlights and high beams to LEDs, and lasted a few days with no complaints. Then the wife was following me home and told me I have no running lights from behind. Pulled over and was the same in front.
Head lights worked fine, high beams, brake lights and turnsignals all work, but no driving lights around the vehicle and the fog lights will not turn on either. I've swapped out the LEDs back to 9005s. The headlights stock switch engages the lights on the dash/headlights and turns on the heater for the washer fluid.
I did however connect a trailer, running lights on it was out as well, but breaks/turnsignals all worked. Any ideas?
