High Clearance Fender/Bumper Cut

Does anyone have the measurements or locations of where the cut starts/end for the high clearance fender/bumper cut similar to the SSO Wings install? I don't plan on running the SSO wings but I would like to make the same cut and run their trim/edge kit on the plastic for the time being until I decide between their Slimline bumper and a full CBI bumper.

Agreed...there is no standard measurement. Just eyeball and tape!

cut it. Luckily the fender liner is rigid enough that it doesn't flap back into the wheel well.

This is what you need from Amazon. It’s door weather strip, and you can pinch it tight against the fender cut. I cut off the excess rubber to clean it up.

Just FYI; you can buy edge trim without the rubber seal on it. Usually the ones with the rubber seal are for door edges. It comes in a bunch of sizes, shapes, textures, and colors. I used one of the profiles with rubber seal edge on a couple doors on my camp trailer.

Trim-lok is a popular brand on Amazon, but it's a bit more expensive than some off brands.

Yup, just eyeball it and lay some tape! I busted mine out in a bout a half hour.

Looks great! how many inches down are you on the fender? Looks like you are quite a bit lower than the 3" the SSO setup calls for.

What are you guys using to cut?

When I installed my C4 low pro I used a dremel tool to cut away, didn't seem like the best option. Melted the plastic and was prone to spinning off on its own. I suppose with the edge trim the melting might not matter.

Yeah a dremel or air type works best. Make sure your disc is large enough to go deep past the plastic and it won't tend to want to come out as much. It will tend to melt the plastic but that can be cleaned up by pulling off with your fingers and then some light filing. Another option is like a small reciprocation air saw. They don't tend to melt and pile up as much.

this is what i used. The metal tabs makes sure that the weatherstrip stays in place. It aint coming off unless you pull hard.

That stripping does pinch nicely...i used a small bead of gorilla glue along the channel as well.

has anyone figured out any type of bracket for use with other brands. im very happy with my WARN winch mount. the bull bar sticks out further, ive had to push cows before. its cheaper and the winch mount is flat where the SSO is angled and I guess that's kinda a difference but marginal. mainly I bought it for the WARN name. anyway I want these now. picture from after last offroad trip. plus im about to get wheel spacers.

So many different sizes. Did you use the 1/8" size?

I bought 2 sizes n one was too small n one fit good I’d have to check at home
