High idle is really pissing me off!!!

05 sr5 4runner high idle probzzz

For the past week and a half my 4r has been idling on park and neutral. Highest rpm its stayed on was around 2500 but now stays at around 1700 rpm. I have trouble starting every day now. I've checked for possible vacuum leaks but I cannot find it all. Tried cleaning throttle body but no luck. 4runner will cut off on me randomly on the road. I need help

Spray intake manifold with carb cleaner or brake cleaner and listen for a idle stumble.
All gaskets etc.

This is what I do to find vacuum leaks but brake clean is very flammable so you have to be careful . Actually, the preferred method (and the correct answer if you are taking the ASE certification tests) is the propane method which is what they teach you in Auto Tech school.....it is less flammable.

I got in the habit of brake cleaner because the commercial stuff from Bowman was non flammable.

Also a lot more readily available than propane and you can direct the spray right where you want it.

I prefer propane also because you can better direct the flow of gas. The aerosols are hard to control; they sort of go all over. With propane you can put the torch right up against all the nipples and unions and follow each hose end-to-end and the valve is variable, unlike the sprays which are pretty much binary.
