My experience is a vacuum leak can cause erratic or high idle. Often you can smell antifreeze at the exhaust pipe if you have a blown head gasket.

Has it gotten a whole lot colder where you are recently? My idle has gone up (when the engines cold) about 500rpm since its gotten so cold. Once the engine warms though, its back to normal.

Yep, mine gets up to 2000 when its really really cold. When its just cold (around 0C) its about 1500rpm until its warmed up a bit.
