Higher lift?

Okay, you guys are going to get a kick out of this BUT... Ive got tundra billies on right now and LC 8 wraps in the rear and the front is about 2" lower to the T.

That being said, until I have the time and money to do my SAS, Can I do another 2" on stock IFS? or at least squeeze some more out of it? Just enough to get the 35's to stop rubbing so much. Already did a 2" BL.

And this is the part you're gonna love, but might make it more feasible... Its 2wd so i dont have to worry about 4wd component angles. I just want to know what else i need to worry about. Ball joints? Lines of any type? Control arms? Dont bash my head in too hard, I go through a few trails for camping/riding/ biking, but for the most part, its my DD so I dont do any heavy offroad... plus its 2wd.

And before you say it, After im out of college I plan on SAS and a tundra v8 swap, so this is JUST TEMPORARY.

3 inches is still the max whether its 2wd or 4wd. Any more than that, you will not have enough droop travel left and every little bump will act like a slidehammer on the shock and eventually cause it to pull apart.

As it sits now, what is the measurement from the center of the hub straight up to the fender?

Thats a good question. dont have a tape on me so ill have to let you know tonight. it was fine before but i also got some ragged out struts. That and rubbing from hell when I put my running boards back on.

Lol if you want a big a** lift kit get one of those show truck drop bracket lift kits. Perfect because you just said you dont offroad. They make one for the taco, Im sure it'd work on the 4Runner.

A Fagtech DB? Uh, nope. Cut out a crossmember, to put a thin cheap ass one in, nope.

I guess for a mall crawler, but to take it off road, nope.
 
I thought we all agreed to never tell anyone about the drop bracket lift for the Tacoma! Aren't we trying to take that thing off the market?!?:hunter:
 
The Jim Norton Toyota Dealership in Tulsa has about five of these foul things lined up. Personly I think its a bit ironic. People who get these, like their big redneck American V8 trucks. It amazes me that any redneck would suffice for a V6 TOYOTA!

Don't the fagtech kits come with a penis pump or a lifetime supply of extenze?
 
At work we actually just converted a 04 Tacoma from a Fabtech back to stock.

Before:

That truck originally came to us with the Fabtech, 2 inch front spacers, 4 inch block and AALs, a 3 inch BL, and rolling on 40's

Now its got a 3 inch suspension and 33's. Much better

coming from the guy with a slammed runner. LOL. I need to specify. I want to do offroading, but the one time i did, back when I was running M/T's, it was hell getting out with only 2wd. SAC would be my best bet to make a 2wd into a 4wd, but that s WAYYY out of the budget right now, although i may as well start that if I was to do a drop bracket lift since the fabtec drop bracket lift is like what, 1200? lol. Id be willing to entertain one temporarily if the price was right, but for now, just trying to sqeeze some extra room.

All the tacomas around town are either lifted with:
1. Just a 3" body lift
2. A massive drop bracket lift
3. coil spacer lift.

I cant find anything else around town. The jeeps are everywhere around here and they come stock with a SFA so its hard enough already to prove anything.

I literally have 1 of 3 lifted 3rd gens in the city I live in, and there's alot of people here! One of the guys is a prick, and the other is very elusive, yet identical to mine.
 
I'm 2wd as well and running Toytec 3" springs and Tundra Billies. I've got my Billies on the second notch and I ended up with about 3 1/2" of front lift. In the rear I'm running 890s along with 2 10mm trim packers on each side. I had no issues with getting the alignment within specs and the ride and drive is fine. The picture below is before I added the trim packers to the rear to level it out. My hub to fender measurement is 24". If you compare keep in mind that you have the 2" BL.

You're all wrong about max lift for a 2wd. But it's gonna cost ya, and you may as well SAS when you're ready seeing as how it's what you want to end up with in the long run.

Scroll down past the Long Travel kit and you'll see them. You have to run an aftermarket UCA, but they give 3" lift while keeping mellow angles on the UCA's and LCA's. You could even then add preload via lift spring or bolt in c/o (Icon/King/Toytec, etc). They are wider too by 1 7/8", so no need to add spacers.

$1450 plus $300 for your stock spindle core charge

Possible? Yes.
Practical? No.

This is more for people with LT so they can get the lift without being at near extended droop travel. When you're at 3-3.5" lift on a Eibachs or Icon c/o for example, you're pretty much at 80% droop as it is. Not ideal for even a mild wheeler IMO.

Thats what im looking for. Im thinking of getting the adjustable 5100's with tundra coils. are they tundra size 5100's or 4runner size lift struts?

Hows the ride?

They are Tundra 5100s. I like the ride of mine. Telling someone how it rides is like trying to tell someone how an exhaust sounds, but I will give it a try. I commute 75 miles each way on the interstate to work and have no complaints. It handles concrete expansion joints with easel. My wife has a Honda Ridgeline and my 4Runner rides better than it on the highway. On some of the rough two lane roads in my area it is firm, but not too firm.

Sounds like an awesome description. at the moment I have the nicest riding lifted vehicle of all my friends. though Im hoping to improve the ride a bit more with some newer struts. any idea where i can score a deal on a set?
