Highest Mileage 4th Gen?

I JUST purchased an '04 4runner base of the base, V6, RWD (2runner), SR5 with 243K miles on it. Bought it because it was in immaculate condition for the price. Been happy with it, hoping I can get it to at least 300k.

Saw a guy in a silver 4th Gen, an 03-05, at the recycling center the other day. He said his has 338K. I'm at ~209K myself on my '07.

250,000 in my 2007 V6 RWD. I do need new struts though, as I’m getting some serious steering wheel vibration and tread cupping. But the everything else is doing great.

Just purchased a 2004 V6 4runner with 202,000 miles on it. He had the head gaskets done at 197,000. Toyota dealer in the seller's family, so it's been serviced there regularly and also just had radiator and hoses replaced at that time, as well.

I am hoping that this bad boy can last me for another 150-200k! Goodbye Subaru.

Pleasure to meet y'all!

Welcome! Glad you're now in the best mid-sized SUV out there. Sounds like you got a good one given the new HGs and the maintenance history.

Generally speaking, if you take care of these things they take care of your bank account. Unless you open the door to the aftermarket and then it's too late for you.

I'm at 264k in my '03 and mechanically it's in perfect shape. Just keeps going and going. I definitely take it for granted.

Any major issues/fixes so far?

Which splash shields did you use and what did you think of them? Can you point me to a link? Mine have been gone for at least 250k miles, and it's been vaguely on my todo list for a while.

Hi, I am looking at a 2008 that has been maintained in accordance with the maintenance schedule. It has 145k on it, they are asking $13500, do you think that is priced right? Thanks

2004 V8 Limited. 350k, original owner!

Runs like a beast with only regular, normal maintenance.

If the frame is clean, yes. 2 years ago paid $13k for an ‘05 Limited V8 4x4 in California with 140k miles. Prices have gone a bit crazy since then so I think you’re getting a fair price.

I purchased a clean 2004 with 200k on it for $9K so that seems right. Less miles, bit newer, couple more grand.

Agree with the previous reply. Check the frame for rust and ask about the head gasket. I don't think the 08's have as many problems with the gasket but it's still worth taking a peak at. Vehicles are expensive right now, but it's also good for selling the Subaru I am getting rid of...

2007 SE 170k. Rear window up/down replaced 106k. XREAS replaced 110k. front axles replaced 160k. Vehicle has lived in sub zero temps.

Best vehicle I've ever owned. The Beast.

04 with 255K miles. Looking at an 03 limited with V8 with 311K miles. Runs great!
Both been in AZ all their lives with no rust at all.
