Highest Mileage 4th Gen?

Sorry for not including it, but no it has mostly highway miles on it without any problems with any components in the engine. It's a 2007 4Runnner SR5 V6. Before about 320,000 miles, my father and I never put any aftermarket parts on it, but since then I've gotten a lift and new tires and rims. Hope to keep y'all updated.

44770 Miles. Yes, 44K.

2007 V6 SR5, stock. Gifted by my mom(75) who can't drive anymore, so I go a big block of clay to make it my own.
 
2004 SR5, V8. 235000 miles. Just rebuilt the front end suspension, wheel bearings and diff. (had a leak), full brake job. Drives like new.

Ordered new front end light assys due to fogging and cracks. I'll paint the trim and it'll look like new.

2003 SR5 V6 4WD at 500,000 miles.

Original engine and transmission. No accidents.

Real repairs include:
  • 1 front brake caliper (passenger side)
  • 1 front wheel bearing (passenger side)
  • 1 console climate control panel (drink spill)
  • 2 alternators. Both replacements have been junky auto parts store products. The original lasted about 350,000 miles (with the original accessory belt!).
  • 1 belt tensioner pulley bearing (and 2 accessory belts)
  • 1 driver's side interior door handle

(Known) Unfixed issues:
  • One or both cats are shot (I live in a no emissions testing state). If anyone can tell me about cheaper options, please do.
  • All O2 sensors need replacing.
  • Both head gaskets are damaged after an overheat caused by the tensioner pulley failing and blowing the accessory belt on the interstate a few months ago. Now that I've safely hit 500k, I'll try stop leak products and see what happens. I think I'm burning about a quart of coolant and a quart of oil per 3-5,000 miles. I still get 18-19 mpg.
  • The volume knob on my radio doesn't work right. Spin the knob any direction and the volume will change, but there's no telling if it goes up or down or how fast it will change. Turning the radio on/off usually changes the volume by about 5 levels.
  • Rear window weather strip is gone on the bottom. Sometimes when it rains the rear wiper motor stops working.
  • Driver's side rear interior door handle doesn't always unlock when the car unlocks.
  • My rear cargo mat's rubber backing has completely disintegrated. Every time I move it, a hundred more tiny chips of hardened rubber fall off and get everywhere.

Maintenance:
  • I've used exclusively Mobil 1 Synthetic Extended Performance at 15,000 mile intervals since about 2004. For the last couple years, I use the matching Mobil 1 Extended Performance filter (M-102), but in times past I used mostly Fram Ultra filters (XG3614).
  • I use the Toyota OEM spark plugs and brake pads, although I buy 3rd-party rotors.
  • On my 4th or 5th windshield, and just chipped another one back in April which now has a foot long crack.
  • On my 3rd battery.
  • For O2 Sensor replacement, I buy the Denso parts (the OE manufacturer) instead of the Toyota dealer part. It's the same parts.

I'm sending off to [email protected] for my free window cling.

UPDATE: Toyota has not responded about the vinyl cling.

Wow! Do you primarily commute with it? I'm amazed your ball joints/tie rod ends/wheel bearings have gone that long.

I just had to replace pretty much my entire suspension at 185K because it was far too loose for my liking. My ball joints were steering the truck on their own......That said, I do do a good bit of offroading with it.
 
I just bought a 2004 V6 SR5 with 87k miles for $4750. Had to spend another 2k for all new tires, registration, and new axles. Car is in excellent condition and the undercarriage has been rust sprayed. I'm excited!

  • Nice, I like seeing this sort of mileage. I bought a PACESETTER header/cat from Rockauto because mine was leaking at the engine, so far no issues. It was a bear to get the nuts off. I also got my Denso upstream o2's from there as they had the best price, again working well. When I got my runner both those o2's had burnt out heaters so I also replaced the crappy relay that powers the heater circuit as they can stick closed. I wonder if that is why the O2's burned out as the same model relay runs the A/C which was also acting up.

    The rear window strip I got from Amazon, OEM part.

    Mine hit 200k a couple weeks ago.

I have never had a vehicle over 200k... This one will be a backup vehicle, so this will take a while to get to even 100K, but Love the simplicity so far ! !

Saw a post yesterday on one of the FB 4th Gen groups and the guy had a photo showing over 800k. Unfortunately, he didn't post any details.

Hey sorry for not responding. I thought I'd subscribed to this thread but I guess not.

Yes, this has been my primary daily driver. For about 8 years of that, I was commuting about 150 miles round trip daily with substantial local driving on top of that.

I actually did have a wheel bearing go bad on the wheel that had the stuck caliper. I totally forgot about it until you mentioned. I replaced it with a Blue Bit Bearings assembly as recommended somewhere on the forum. I'll go back to my original and edit if I can. I probably have less than 5,000 off road miles on it, although with the current state of SC roads, that's probably even more demanding than light offroading.
 
2004 Limited V8 at 242,600 and going strong. It'll get to 500,000 if I do nothing but change the tires, the oil and the diff, and replace worn brake pads
