Highest Mileage Engine Competition!!!

High Mileage

Okay, so my post doesnt really "count" because Im driving a 3rd Gen 4Runner... 2001 - but I have 278k on original engine. The **only** thing Ive replaced on this truck is my CAT. Regular tune ups, water pump/timing belt changes. That's it.

:)

85 sr5/22re. its got to be just about 250,000 miles.

it was a canadian rig when i got it, so it was clicking off in KM's. i changed the cluster over...
but im not home to figure out what its got. ive got 57,000 since the swap. but i cant remember how many KM's on the other cluster..over 300k i believe.

but, it apparently did have the engine replace before i got it. at about the 200,000km mark i think..

My 85 has 297K and my 88 has 240K. Both all original, never had the head off, never out of the vehicle. Just new belts, hoses, valve cover gasket on the 88. New alt on the 85. Both have had their radiators rodded out. Thats about it. Can't say enough good things about these motors.

I wrecked my '89 pickup SR5 50km shy of 450,000 km all original (including the head gasket) except the clutch which was done (for the first time) around 310,000 or so.

Picked up my '94 T4R SR5 last June had 355,000 km on it...just rolled over 377,000 km this past weekend.

I guess I am on the other end of the mileage competition. Just got my 94 T4R SR5 last week with 135,000 km on it (close to 85,000 miles).

91 runner

i got a 91 v6 running 440,000 kms not sure what that is in mileage canadian eh
love this site thanks for everyones help an inputs

I think I am the winner

1989 T4r sold in 2008 with 490000 a year later when the next guy sold it had over 500000. Who knows where it is now :roadkill:

Pic and description in sig

Had no rebuild, head gasket or anything new with the engine- transmission rebuilt 3 times with 2 clutches
No oil leaks or smoke either

21 all original miles when i sold it... hehehe :trophy:

Mine is a little backwards rig is an 87 sr5 with 185xxx currently. The 22re I'm running is out of my parts wagon 86 dlx with around 280xxx. I've had it 3 years with a solid rod knock in #1 cyl 2 trany swaps and 1 new clutch but still pulls 75 on the frwy all day long. Crossing my fingers now and saying a little prayer.

Loving my original 1995 Limited 5 speed

295,456 currently ...... I don't want to part with it! I drive it 100 miles a day for work and I love it.... hopefully will go another 50k or so for my daughter.

I may hold the 3ZVE record: 356,911 miles with no rebuild. Head gasket was done once in 1991 for the recall. Engine is in an 89 4runner.

I check coolant levels daily, I run toyota red (and/or Zerex Asian Formula) with a bottle of the Subaru dealership coolant conditioner (which is really a mild holts stop leak).

Change the oil every 5,000 or so, just standard 10w-30, no high mileage formula or anything. I'd change the oil sooner but in 5,000 miles it gets around 3 quarts of additional oil due to consumption. It's not coming out the tail pipe so it doesn't bother me haha.

I have my fingers crossed.

342000 miles, 99 SR5, had it since new in 2000.
Did the head gasket during a recall, Fuel pump replacement, recently replaced ball joints. Back 10 or so years would not go in 4WD. Some $600 valve had to be replaced.
Keep up on the maintance like clockwork. Including changing out timing belts.
Still running strong and have no problem driving it the 300 mile round trip to Phoenix.
