It's been a long rainy, boring day at work so I figured I'd post the question of who has the most mileage on there 1st or 2nd Gen. T4R Engine (and still runs :wink2:)

I'll start it off with my '87 22R-E with 263,000 (rebuilt at 210,000).

My 85 4runner has around 338,400 miles on it. Still has stock crank, pistons, rods, head, ect. It was pulled out when I bought it and the head was worked, new rod and main bearings and new rings. It's a trail only rig so it sits for a while sometimes before it gets started and it starts every time! It's probably the most reliable vehicle I have! Lol

Interesting post, I was wondering about this myself. I'm an original owner of a '91 4Runner w/ 22 RE engine, 5-spd. manual transmission. Everything is still stock. It's has 309,000 miles still running well. I should get a new car but just can't seem to part w/ it. Thinking about replacing the engine at some point. Any suggestion on a reputable shop that specialize in this kind of work? I live in Nor Cal.

Thanks

'90 3.0 with 240000. Just replaced the clutch this weekend, some of the parts were original! wow they needed to be changed.

253,xxx - Wouldnt have a clue if anythings been replaced other than the HG in 2000 and again 8 months ago.

:P

I'm at work, so don't know exactly.
If memory serves, my '87 has in the neighborhood of 222,222 miles.
2nd owner. As far as I know, only the head gasket & timing chain has been replaced by P.O. shortly before I bought it at around 214K miles.

So far most mileage goes to 85toyrunner with 338,000.

What amazes me is that the average mileage of those posted is 212,000 miles. Most vehices out there now a days crap the bed well before 200,000 miles. I would say that this thread is proof alone that these little Yotas are pretty tough to beat!!!

263k on my 85 trail rig, i think its mostly original, starts right up every time even after sitting for a month, i beat the heck out of it and just keeps going!

1993, just hit 200,000 today coming back to dallas. now at 200,004...when does it ever end?? another 138,000 miles and ill ask that question again.

!

283,724 on a 3.0. Had only one head gasket change and 3 weeks ago developed a knock. I bought the truck brand new in 94. It's a 4runner/auto/4x4. Have been rebuilding the motor, yep rebuilding the 3.0. May not be the fastest, but definately reliable.

here's a few pics...cause everyone likes pics:bluejump:

Love my runner!!!

Mine has thy e 3.0 and I dont know why the get such a bad rap besides the head gasket. IMO the power is not bad considering its a 93.

Anyway its at 193k and the Head gasket is replaced the valve cover gaskets need to be replaced but thats about it. Ive owned it for about 2 months now Ive loved every minute of it.

My '90 22re has 360,000km on it, rebuilt 60,000 ago according to previous owner. Starts first turn of the key, runs smooth, no vibration. This is my first Toyota truck, I'd heard you could pretty much count on getting 400,000km out of a 22re, so I should be good for another 40,000.
