highest mileage???

I have 248,000 miles on my 2000. Just found out I have a cracked rear diff and its leaking all over the brakes. Do I:

A. Sell "as is"
B. Shop around for best price on replacing rear diff and breaks
C. Try to do it myself (not really an option

If there is a better thread to ask this, please let me know.

what? cracked rear diff? are you sure it's not your axle seals? pretty simple job.

I just finished changing the oil on my 4runner and I currently have about 184k.

As for the mileage, these trucks don't really seem to have a hard upper limit. Rust-related problems, accidents and things like pink milkshakes seems to take most of them. If you keep your maintenance to date, you are still good for looooong. Always check your prestone level, probably saved my engine/head gasket by doing so when the rear heater line began leaking.

Yes, it is absolutely worth the money to replace your timing belt at that mileage on a 3rd gen 4runner. The engine on that truck was designed to last figuratively indefinitely, trouble-free.

200,100 this week. 2000 model. Total maintenance done beyond filter/fluids has been timing belt, upgraded large piston Tundra brakes, external trans cooler, shocks, and two O2 sensors. That's it. Drives tight as a brand new one. And the power antenna is the only thing that don't work. Heck I only change the oil about once a year if I think too lol.
