240,000 miles. Normal wear items replaced (exhaust, brakes, shocks, etc). I only greased my driveshaft once. That was a big mistake and I had to replace the rear ujoint recently...Power steering lines just replaced due to corrosion. Trailing link arm rusted off rear axle. Mechanic welded it back on. Probably would have never happened if it wasn't for that rubberized undercoating stuff I had on it. All that stuff does is trap water and salt when it cracks and makes things much worse. Corrosion is a major problem in Massachusetts. Still solid truck though, just got back from a roadtrip to Alaska and Moab. 10,000 miles roundtrip, no issues. My co-worker just bought a brand new Chevy Colorado. They know his name at the dealer...

258,000 on a 98 SR5 4x4 3.4 auto. I just bought it yesterday from a young lady who probably had every service receipt. She just changed timing belt for the 2nd time along with the water pump. Original engine and trans which she also had records of flushing and maintenance. She had it lifted 2” body and 2” suspension. I think I’ll take off the body lift. The only things I can see that needs fixing are the clock and the high beam indicator light. Interior looks almost new. She’s always had neoprene covers and wearhertech mats. It runs strong and shifts properly, no lag or slip. I think I got a good one!

How many of you actually did a valve adjustment. I'm trying to decide if I should plan for that anytime soon with 180,000 miles.

180K is not even broken in yet. I doubt you'll ever need to touch the valves. I didn't even replace my original timing belt til 250K, and it was still in good shape.

My 02 4Runner Sport is sitting at 244,888. Getting a new suspension next week, hoping it will make it another 250k, but the MN rust might catch up to it first.

Just hit 333,000 today, celebrated with an oil change.
Original engine, transmission, and owners.
Replaced alternator, timing belt, o2sensor, plugs/wires, brakes, and one busted axle.
My mom drove it off the lot on 09/11/01 with me in the back seat, now it’s been mine for the better part of a decade.
We shipped it to Hawaii when we moved there & shipped it again when we moved back to Minnesota. No regrets

I am the original owner of my 2000 4 Runner w/ 3.4 L. v-6. It currently has 325 k. miles. Since day one I've ran full synthetic Castrol or Mobil 1 along with " PROLONG " motor oil additive available @ Auto Zone for $20.00.
Religiously @ 5000 mi. I add 1/4 qt.
then change @ 6000 mi.

These vehicles have taught me that the general conception of "how long a car/engine can last" is nonsense.
Properly maintained, there really is no reason for a vehicle to not crest 200k or even 300k. I think people just hear the big numbers and think "oh shit", but also... Most people don't take care of anything they own and its really sad.
There's some kind of a weird family but I learned about recently at my mechanics' shop. I saw a poorly maintained land cruiser with 3 tires that had EXPOSED STEEL BELTS. Body damage, gross interior. The works. When I inquired about it, they told me that the family that owns it are these wierd shitty people who never do any maintenance. "They don't believe in oil changes or new tires". So whenever a vehicle fails, or the tires go bad, they try to get it all done for free/warranty and after that they just buy another car.
I could tell my mechanic does not like to deal with them, and that it is one of those "ugh..." things.
Anyway, so this Land cruiser wouldn't start anymore on top of that. Also... They drove it in as you see it in the photo.

Yikes, in GA too. Remind me to watch out for them on the road.

This is definitely weird. What's even weirder is is that they bought an LC. Usually negligent people like them go straight for the cheapest on the lot. i.e. Expedition, Tahoe. I am willing to bet they bought this at some gravel lot, and the dealer told them this truck would take them the furthest.

I just past 301,500 on my 1999 4 Runner. Last timing belt change was 216,500, so getting close to that 90K mark again.
